The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences received a number of students of the Department of Architecture at Kuwait University who participate in the joint Design Studio with the University of California, Berkeley. The reception included members of the Board of Directors and High Supervisory Committee. The visiting students gave a presentation of their architectural designs of the Foundation’s new building, which is the result of the collaborative work between the students of the two universities.
This exercise, which is conducted under the umbrella of the agreement between KFAS and Berkley on behalf of KU aims to exchange experiences and academic and research cooperation between students of the Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley and their counterparts at Kuwait University.
Mr. Yussif Al-Mazeedi, Director of International Programs Office at KFAS commented on this activity by saying: "The cooperation between the students of the Architecture College at Kuwait University and the University of California, Berkeley, comes as a result of KFAS’ efforts in building national capacities and cementing academic cooperation through the joint Design Studio which avails students chances to get to know the cultural foundations of various arts and sciences. Collaborative research also contributes to raising awareness of the creative value of multiculturalism."
