A delegation from the University of California, Berkeley visited the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) as part of an agreement which aims to exchange experiences and cooperation between students of the Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley and their counterparts at Kuwait University through working as one team in the joint Design Studio.
The visit has been organized by KFAS to promote academic and research cooperation and exchange of experiences between the students of the Department of Architecture at the University of California - Berkeley and their counterparts at Kuwait University. The visit comes under the umbrella "Contemporary Arab Culture Center” at the University of California, Berkeley which is part of the KFAS-Berkeley agreement.
Mr. Yussif Al-Mazeedi, Director of International Programs Office at KFAS commented on this activity by saying: "The cooperation between the students of the Architecture College at Kuwait University and the University of California, Berkeley, comes as a result of KFAS’ efforts in building national capacities and cementing academic cooperation through the joint Design Studio which avails students chances to get to know the cultural foundations of various arts and sciences. Collaborative research also contributes to raising awareness of the creative value of multiculturalism."
During a recent visit to KFAS, a group of students gave a presentation of their architectural designs of the Foundation’s new building. The presentation was attended by members of the Board of Directors.
